I became a keen photographer when I got my first SLR camera as a teenager. I was a member of Orpington Photographic Society and had a couple of pictures Highly Commended in the Photographic Information Council Junior Photographer of the Year.
An MSc in Applied Optics from Imperial College which included lens design and further postgraduate research in imaging processing means that I have been working with digital images for over 40 years. Plus with 15 years experience in the computer graphics industry actually means I have forgotten more than most photographers know about imaging and printing!
In recent years with the advent of decent digital SLR cameras I have returned to being an active photographer, specialising in action and sports photography particularly rugby. My recent work has taken me into architecture and street photography.
I am a committee member and former Chairman of Maidenhead Camera club and was an organiser of the Sport in Focus 2012 project.
I am very pleased to have been awarded the Licentiate of The Royal Photographic Society, the Credit award of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and Excellence of the International Federation of Photographic Art.
